AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: Cinemax is taking its popular “Sessions” series (which was recently in Detroit for a soul summit with Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Wilson Pickett) to Nashville for a tribute to legendary guitar-picker Chet Atkins. The special, which will be shot in early May, will feature such special guests (and Atkins fans) as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, the Everly Brothers, Emmylou Harris, Mark Knopfler and Michael McDonald. And how’s this for a surprise? The show is being directed by Hollywood legend, Stanley Donen. . . . PMRC poster boy Ozzy Osbourne returns next month with “Tribute,” a double live album of 1981 recordings featuring the late guitar whiz Randy Rhoads. Profits will be split between Osbourne and Rhoads’ estate, which has earmarked some of the money to erect a mausoleum for Rhoads, whose grave site has been vandalized several times in recent years. . . . And a fond farewell to Licorice Pizza, the popular Southland music and video stores which will undergo a name change at the end of the month as part of a corporate consolidation by new parent company, Musicland Group, Minneapolis. The chain has renamed its 35 area Licorice Pizza stores, which will now be called Sam Goody Music & Video.
