Vida Blue told a San Francisco radio...
Vida Blue told a San Francisco radio talk show host he has received an offer to pitch in Japan but more than likely will pass it up because he expects to be playing in the United States before the end of the year.
Blue, who signed a free agent contract with the Oakland A’s in January, then “retired” from baseball on the eve of the start of spring training, said he was calling “from the planet Earth,” that he never was into drugs and that he has been working out in anticipation of pitching again.
Blue spent three months in jail three years ago on a drug possession and use charge and underwent a month-long drug rehabilitation program at an Oakland hospital last November.
