The Screen Actors Guild has become the first entertainment union to issue $1 billion in residual payments. It will mark that occasion today by presenting the residual check containing the billionth dollar to Eddie Deezen (“WarGames,” “1941”) who currently appears on “Punky Brewster.” A guild spokesman said Deezen’s check--for an amount “in the hundreds”--comes for his work on “Grease,” still the top-grossing movie musical of all time. SAG President Patty Duke will make the presentation to Deezen late this morning.
