A federal appeals judge in Boston rejected Marvelous Marvin Hagler’s latest legal move against the World Boxing Assn., saying the fighter failed to “land any forceful blows” in his attempt to retain his stripped middleweight title.
“Marvelous Marvin Hagler has been less successful in the court than in the ring,” Judge Bruce Selya wrote.
The WBA declared the championship vacated because Hagler did not defend his title in the required nine months.
Hagler remains the World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation champion. His bout Monday night at Las Vegas against Sugar Ray Leonard is sanctioned only by the WBC.
