A Sacramento woman stabbed her three small children to death and then set fire to her housing project apartment in an apparent effort to kill herself. Police said Diane Bobo, 25, ran back into the burning apartment after telling neighbors she had killed her children, but was rescued and hospitalized for treatment of burns on her hands and feet. Firefighters forced their way into the smoke-filled apartment and found three children, ages 8 months, 4 years and 6 years, with stab wounds in their torsos. Two of the children were dead at the scene and the third died a short time later at a local hospital. Police Lt. John Carey said the woman would be charged with three counts of homicide and arson.
