Police arrested a 24-year-old burglary suspect early Saturday morning after a short, high-speed chase that ended in a traffic collision that left an Anaheim man injured, police said.

About 5 a.m., an Anaheim police officer patrolling near Lincoln Avenue and Euclid Street heard the sound of glass breaking in a nearby commercial area. When he reached the Radio Shack store at 130 S. Euclid, he saw a man in his 20s loading merchandise into a 1982 Chevrolet Camaro that had been driven through the store’s plate-glass window, said Police Lt. Jack Parra.

The suspect, later identified as Paul Adrian Villa, no known address, allegedly got into the car and fled. Moments later he hit a 1979 Toyota Corolla driven by Ramon Garces, 24, of Anaheim and apparently raced away on foot, Parra said. He was caught by Anaheim Police Officer Jim Saenz. Villa, who is being held in Anaheim City Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, has been charged with commercial burglary, felony hit-and-run, auto theft and possession of stolen property, Parra said. The Camaro allegedly driven by Villa was reported stolen in the city of Orange, he said.
