A Florida woman who initially survived an April 5 collision on Laguna Canyon Road that killed three others has died of her injuries, raising the accident’s toll to four, authorities said Tuesday.

Jenny Peloquin, 33, of Dade City, Fla., died at 4:05 p.m. Monday at UCI Medical Center, Deputy Coroner Rick Plows said.

Mrs. Peloquin was riding in a car driven by her husband, Wilfred, 43, along the narrow highway 1 1/2 miles north of El Toro Road when an oncoming car swerved over the center line and collided broadside with the Peloquins’ car.

Peloquin was killed, as were the driver of the second car, James G. Miceli, 29, and his passenger, Michael J. Conway, 31, both of Olathe, Kan.

On Saturday, John Lara, a Laguna Beach cartoonist, erected a dozen white crosses on Laguna Canyon Road to memorialize the more than 30 people who have died there in traffic accidents in recent years. Lara said he wanted to draw attention to the dangers of the road.
