Missing Wrestler’s Body Discovered at Lake; Note Found
The body of professional wrestler Mike Von Erich was discovered today in thick underbrush about 600 yards from where his car was discovered abandoned near Lewisville Lake.
The body was clothed in jeans and a short-sleeve shirt, officials said. A jacket that the 23-year-old Von Erich wore to wrestling matches was found in his vehicle. Officials said there was no indication of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled.
His family had reported him missing Monday. He had been last reported seen Saturday afternoon, when he posted bond on drug and alcohol charges.
His car was found beside the lake Wednesday, and officials said a note was found that began: “Dad and Mom, I am in a better place. I’ll be watching.”
Von Erich was the youngest of three wrestling Von Erich brothers, sons of Jack and Doris Adkisson.
