EAST SMITHFIELD, Pa. —
Animal rights activists, one of them dressed as the Easter bunny, raided a poultry farm before dawn Friday, spray-painted slogans on walls and “liberated” 40 hens to protest “cruel and abusive” treatment of the chickens, a spokesman for Farm Sanctuary, an animal welfare group in Wilmington, Del., said.
