The Cat on the Telephone Pole

Share

Just as soon as I finished reading the article about the cat on the telephone pole (April 13), I looked up the phone number of Mr. Ken Maziol, in whose backyard the cat was trapped, then called my friend Rose Hosea, founder and president of Feline & Canine Friends Inc. in Anaheim. She is very experienced in trapping for a number of years, and I felt her background would be extremely helpful.

It was her carrier and equipment that was used, and the cat was taken to her home where water, safety and food were provided after being checked by her veterinarian.

However, the TV news made an error in stating that the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals had assisted. As a humane volunteer for many years in Hollywood, I worked closely with the SPCA and have great respect and admiration for them, but the fact is it was Feline & Canine Friends Inc.--a simple matter of giving credit where credit is due.

Credit is also due to the Maziols for their humane concern and to The Times for the excellent photos and story. Loving animals, I was immediately attracted to the story, and I’m grateful for the happy ending.
