San Diego police Tuesday were investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred Monday on California 78 near the Wild Animal Park when a motorcyclist crossed a center divider and crashed head-on into a pickup truck.
Traffic Sgt. Gary Gollehon said the accident took place about 6 p.m. when Richard Joseph Lennon, 24, of Leucadia, who was riding his motorcycle westbound, crossed the center line. Lennon was dead at the scene of massive head injuries, the coroner’s office reported.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
