Starvation

Reading the article (April 2), “Children on Philippine Island Still Dying of Starvation Despite Global Aid Effort,” reminds me that throughout the world, tens of millions of people each year die of starvation and diseases linked to malnutrition. And many of them are children.

They are suffering from malnutrition because they don’t have sufficient intake of protein and calories. If our own children were among them, how would we feel about that? Can we just watch them suffering without extending a helping hand? Of course not. These are people who need our help. We don’t want our children suffering, so why don’t we help those who are in hunger and need our help?
