Milwaukee Disorderly Conduct Citation Against Reggie Jackson Is Dismissed

A disorderly conduct citation against Oakland A’s player Reggie Jackson was dismissed Thursday by Milwaukee Circuit Court Commissioner Harry Halloway.

The citation was issued after a dispute over an autograph last May 3 at Major Goolsby’s, a downtown bar and restaurant, between Jackson and Donald Weimer of Racine, Wis. Jackson then played for the Angels.

Halloway noted that Weimer already had pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct citation.

“The court cannot conceivably find a person guilty on the same fact situation on which another person pleaded guilty,” the court official wrote.

Weimer entered the plea March 9 after the city attorney’s office said it would recommend that his sentence be withheld and that the case be held open until Aug. 31. If Weimer does not violate an ordinance before that time, his case also will be dropped.

A city disorderly conduct citation carries a maximum forfeiture of $200.
