2 Killed, 1 Hurt in Alleged Gang Shooting
Two men were killed and another wounded in an apparent gang-related shooting in Chicano Park on Saturday, San Diego police said.
Witnesses told police that the three victims were standing in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Logan Avenue about 2:45 a.m. when three unidentified men approached and began shooting.
Gerardo Isaias Zarzosa, 26, of the 4500 block of Alabama Street, died at UC San Diego Medical Center of multiple wounds shortly after the attack, the coroner’s office said.
Claro R. Jimenez, 21, of the 2000 block of Harrison Street, died of a head wound Saturday afternoon at Mercy Hospital, the coroner’s office said.
Refugio Banuelos, 26, of Southeast San Diego, suffered a minor wound, police said.
The three suspects were seen fleeing south through Chicano Park.
