NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships : Hamilton Wins Floor Exercise

Freshman Kim Hamilton of UCLA scored a record 9.80 Saturday night to win the floor exercise in the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships at the University of Utah.

Hamilton’s score was the highest ever recorded in the floor exercise at the NCAA women’s championships.

Sophomore Yumi Modre of Washington won both the vault and balance beam, marking the first time one gymnast has won two events in the championships. Modre scored a 9.50 in the vault and a 9.65 in the balance beam.

Sophomore Lucy Wener of Georgia won the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.70. Wener also won the event last year.
