Rehling’s Homer Helps Huntington Beach

Kenny Rehling hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning for Huntington Beach High School, and a late Marina rally fell short as the Oilers defeated the Vikings, 7-6, in a Sunset League baseball game Saturday at Huntington Beach.

Rehling’s homer gave Huntington Beach (3-5-1, 9-6-1) a 6-1 lead, but Marina scored five runs in the fifth--with the help of Marquez Nelson’s bases-loaded triple--to tie the score, 6-6.

In the bottom of the inning, Dominic Alvarez walked, stole second, took third on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch for the winning run.

Marina (1-8, 7-11) loaded the bases in the seventh with one out, but could not score.
