Four ensembles from the United States and Australia were awarded prizes in the 41st annual Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition Saturday at Caltech. Taking the Coleman/Vera Barstow Award (and $3,000) for string ensemble was the Montclaire String Quartet; winning $3,000 with the Coleman Award for woodwinds or brass was the Movellan Wind Quintet from Australia; the Arizona State University Saxophone Quartet was given the Saunderson Award of $1,800; and the Russell Award of $1,000 went to the Northwestern Saxophone Quartet.
