San Diego Transit workers found the body of a 15-year-old boy in a Southeast San Diego flood control channel Wednesday, police reported.
Duwan Lee Emerson, of the 5200 block of Naranja Street, appeared to have been strangled before being left in the culvert north of that block, Sgt. Chuck Sleeper said. An autopsy is pending.
The transit workers found the body about 11:30 a.m.
Police are asking anyone with information about the boy’s death to contact the department’s Crime Stoppers program at 235-TIPS.
