Enclosed Mall in Indio to Double in Size Next Year
Indio Fashion Mall, an enclosed shopping mall in Indio, will be doubled in size as part of a $20-million expansion and rehabilitation planned by William J. Stone & Associates of San Diego.
The shopping center contains 250,000 square feet of gross leasable space on a 23.5-acre site at the southeast corner of California 111 and Monroe Street. Major tenants include Sears and the Harris Co.
The addition will be built on 20 acres south of the present site, and is being acquired by the city as part of a redevelopment program. Work is expected to begin in September, with completion scheduled for fall 1988.
