12 Greyhounds Die After Being Shipped on Plane

PORTLAND, Ore. —
Ten racing greyhounds mysteriously died aboard a commercial TWA flight from St. Louis to Portland, and two others that were barely alive when the flight landed had to be killed. Autopsies on the dogs, valued at up to $10,000 each, are to be completed today, and a TWA spokesman would not speculate on the cause of death before then. One dog survived the Wednesday flight.
