Rosemead : Motel Moratorium Lifted
The City Council has repealed a moratorium on construction of motels and approved applications for two. The moratorium was passed four months ago when eight motels were in the planning stage. The new ordinance calls for a 40,000-square-foot minimum lot, an economic feasibility study and a conditional-use permit. Applications were approved for a 52-unit Travelodge on Garvey Avenue and a 50-unit Venus Motel on San Gabriel Boulevard.
