Santa Monica : More Bids Sought on Library
The City Council has rejected three bids on a contract to remodel the main library after at least nine other contractors missed the deadline because it was listed incorrectly in a daily construction industry newspaper. Bids now will be opened May 11.
The council is scheduled to award the remodeling contract on May 12. The project will improve the efficiency of the work space, provide additional space wherever possible for public use and restore interior finishes in the 22-year-old building on 6th Street.
