Suspected drunk drivers, jaywalkers and other misdemeanor offenders can post their bond on plastic at the King County Jail.

The jail began accepting bank credit cards Thursday as payment for bail and some fines.

The cards will be used primarily to make bail for misdemeanors because most people do not have a high enough credit line to pay the larger bonds carried by felonies, Court Services Supervisor Frank Fleetham said.
