Two former co-stars of “Lou Grant” will be appearing in movies scheduled opposite one another next Sunday. On CBS, Linda Kelsey co-stars with John Lithgow and Mary Beth Hurt in “Baby Girl Scott,” a film about who has the right to decide whether to administer medical aid to an underdeveloped, prematurely born infant. On NBC, Jack Bannon is a suspect in the new “Perry Mason” movie, “The Case of the Sinister Spirit,” in which Mason (Raymond Burr) is called on to defend a publisher (Robert Stack) accused of murder.

Two other performers are reunited in another movie next Sunday. Stephanie Zimbalist and James Read, who starred together in the first season of “Remington Steele,” play a married couple in ABC’s “Celebration Family.” Ed Begley Jr. and Diane Ladd also star.

KCET Channel 28 plans to note the 100th anniversary of Hollywood by repeating the acclaimed 13-part documentary series about the movie capital’s history, “Hollywood.” It’ll run Sundays at 10 p.m., beginning May 31. The station has produced a new set of “Videolog” features about Hollywood to run in conjunction with these telecasts.

Dennis Weaver will star in “Bluffing It,” a TV movie for ABC. He plays a factory foreman who has managed to hide his poor reading skills for his adult life but then is promoted to a new j1868701815is part of ABC’s Project Literacy U.S. campaign and is scheduled for broadcast Sept. 13.

Joseph Wambaugh has adapted his book “Echoes in the Darkness” as a five-hour TV movie for CBS. Stockard Channing will play the Philadelphia teacher whose murder in 1979 touched off an investigation that lasted seven years and wound up in the arrest of another teacher and a school principal. The cast also features Peter Boyle, Gary Cole, Treat Williams, Peter Coyote, Robert Loggia, Cindy Pickett, Alex Hyde-White and Zeljko Ivanek.

Avery Brooks of “Spenser: For Hire” and Phylicia Rashad of “The Cosby Show” star in a new version of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” that will play on the Showtime cable channel in June. Harriet Beecher Stowe’s classic novel about slavery also will star Edward Woodward, Bruce Dern, Frank Converse, Sam Jackson and Kathryn Walker. Brooks plays Tom and Rashad portrays Eliza.

Barbara Cartland’s novel “A Hazard of Hearts” is being turned into a TV movie for CBS, with Helena Bonham Carter as the heroine who gets involved with a series of unsavory men. Joining her in the cast are Edward Fox, Christopher Plummer, Stewart Granger, Diana Rigg, Marcus Gilbert and Eileen Atkins.

A new, five-hour adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “David Copperfield” will be featured on PBS’ “Masterpiece Theatre” next year. Colin Hurley plays the title role, with Simon Callow as Mic1635213925in the BBC production.

CBS’ nighttime soap operas are adding new cast members for next season. Eddie Albert, the former star of “Green Acres” and “Switch,” is joining “Falcon Crest.” Academy Award-winner Red Buttons will be seen on “Knots Landing.” Jack Scalia, who appeared in “Remington Steele” this season, is moving over to “Dallas.”
