Mission Viejo : El Toro Marine Dies of Accident Injuries
An El Toro Marine who was injured in a car accident Monday died Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Paul Martin, 22, died at 1:23 p.m. at Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he was taken and reported in critical condition after the accident, said Ken Daily, spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.
Martin was a passenger in a car driven by Eric Carpenter. He was injured when Carpenter sped through a red light at the intersection of Trabuco Road and Bake Parkway in El Toro and hit a Nissan pickup truck, Daily said.
Martin, a private first class with the provost marshal’s office, was from Putnam, Conn.
