Westminster : Motorcyclist Dies, Passenger Hurt in Crash

A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger critically injured Thursday morning when their cycle collided with a car at Beach Boulevard and 13th Street, police said.

Officers said the driver of the cycle was pronounced dead at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital’s trauma center shortly after the 4:45 a.m. accident. His passenger, who police believe was his wife, was listed in critical condition.

The names of the victims were withheld until their families could be notified.

Officers said the motorcycle entered the intersection from 13th Street and collided with the car. Officers said they could not yet tell whether one of the vehicles had run a red light.
