Police seized more than $1.8 million worth of methamphetamine, arrested nine suspected members of a drug manufacturing ring and found a cache of weapons and explosives when they raided three homes in North Hollywood and San Bernardino County, investigators said Friday.

The raids Wednesday and Thursday netted more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine, commonly called speed, 21 grams of cocaine, drug-manufacturing equipment, 51 guns and a quantity of explosives, Los Angeles Police Officer Dennis Packer said.

The first raid, which took place in the San Bernardino County community of Oro Grande, near Victorville, resulted in the seizure of 40 pounds of liquid methamphetamine that was still cooking in two labs, Packer said. Four arrests were made in Oro Grande, two in Hesperia and three in North Hollywood.
