Nistl and Boardman of Nomads Honored

Goalkeeper Anton Nistl and defenseman Steve Boardman of the San Diego Nomads were named to the all-Western Soccer Alliance first team Wednesday.
Nistl had 3 shutouts, 41 saves, and had a league-leading goals-against average of 0.81 this season. Boardman was the team’s No. 2 scorer with two goals, three assists and seven points. The Nomads were the league’s regular-season champion.
Defenders Marcelo Balboa and Arturo Velazco, midfielder Steve Black and forward John Sissons of the Nomads were named to the second team.
