‘Lower the Ante in the Gulf ‘

There were many letters (May 24) criticizing the Reagan Administration for the “Tragedy in the Persian Gulf.” These are the same people who would scream the loudest if the United States adopted a “shoot first and ask questions later” policy.
The critics offer no solution save a return to pre-World War II pacifism.
