Santa Ana
Jobs Available for Youth: The city has launched a summer youth employment program that offers full- and part-time work for people 16 to 21 years old. The program, run with help from Rancho Santiago College and with money from the federal Job Training Partnership Act, offers jobs that pay an average of $5 an hour. There are positions for typists and medical lab assistants as well as recreation leaders. All jobs begin June 22 and end Aug. 31, but in past years many of these positions have led to permanent employment, Rancho Santiago spokeswoman Beverly Frager said. Applications are available at Rancho Santiago College’s Language and Assessment Center in Honer Plaza, 1381 West 17th St., Santa Ana.
