Two West German tourists and three Zimbabweans, including two militiamen, were killed in separate attacks in southern Zimbabwe, police said. The Germans--identified by Western diplomats as Hermann Portmann, 34, and Maria Dorn, 33, who were touring Africa by motorcycle--were shot to death while resting along the main road to Victoria Falls, near the spot where six foreign tourists were abducted by rebels in July, 1982, and later murdered. Two militiamen and a tractor driver also were reported slain in the area. Government troops have been fighting guerrillas backing opposition leader Joshua Nkomo in the area for five years.
