A triptych of Princess Diana was in prominent focus at a massive art show previewed Wednesday in London. Featured among the 1,320 paintings at the Royal Academy of Art’s 219th annual summer show was a triple portrait by society painter John Merton. The painting, commissioned for the Principality of Wales, is being officially unveiled Saturday. But it is already on display at the Royal Academy’s annual extravaganza for both professional and amateur painters. One of those painters is Prince Charles. A tiny watercolor landscape entitled “Farm Building in Norfolk” is catalogued as by Arthur George Carrick. Arthur and George are two of the prince’s names, and one of his titles is Earl of Carrick.
