Honduras said it captured about 10 Nicaraguan rebels last week after fighting broke out between the U.S.-backed contras and Honduran troops near the Nicaraguan border. A Honduran military spokesman, speaking after the newspaper La Tribuna revealed the incident, said the skirmish occurred last Saturday in the eastern jungle region. No one was killed or injured in the clash, he said, contradicting the newspaper’s report that seven contras died and six were wounded. The spokesman said that rebels attacked a Honduran border patrol, which returned the fire.
