Nuclear Regulatory Commissioner Thomas Roberts defended his conduct in the leak of a sensitive NRC document from his office to Louisiana Power & Light Co., a nuclear plant operator. Roberts, appearing before a Senate panel on nuclear regulation, denied he tried to cover up or mislead Congress about the leak of documents concerning cracks in the floor of the Waterford nuclear plant reactor containment building. He acknowledged making inaccurate statements about the incident.
