POP/ROCK - June 5, 1987

Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

The Underground Music Festival, scheduled for next Friday to June 14 at the John Anson Ford Theatre was canceled, it was announced Thursday. One reason the event was abandoned, according to Ford manager Roy Hassett, was disappointment in the scheduled lineup, which included the Heaters (known as the backing band for Bruce Willis’ foray into pop) and such lesser-known bands as Plan B and Hang Dynasty. Plans for a June 21 reggae festival and a series of Latin and salsa concerts later this summer remain unchanged.
