Brian Bosworth has informed the San Diego Chargers he doesn’t want to play for them, but team officials say they’ll pick the Oklahoma linebacker in the supplemental draft anyway, if he’s available.

Bosworth sent letters to 23 NFL teams, in which he notified them that he would be willing to play only for the Rams, the Raiders, the New York Giants, the New York Jets or the Philadelphia Eagles.

“We can’t tell anyone what to do, but we can inform them what he intends to do,” Bosworth’s New York-based agent, Gary Wichard, said. “He’s spent a lot of effort so he can get in a position of playing where he’d like to be. We’re not trying to one-up the NFL. It’s what’s in the best interest of Brian Bosworth in the long run.”
