Kahane May Run for Mayor of Jerusalem

TEL AVIV —
Militant Rabbi Meir Kahane, a member of Parliament who campaigns to expel all Arabs from Israeli-ruled territory, said Friday he is considering running for mayor of Jerusalem.
The statement by New York-born Kahane came a day after Hanna Siniora, a prominent Palestinian newspaper editor in Arab East Jerusalem, said he would head the first list of Arab candidates for Jerusalem’s municipal elections in November, 1988.
