A medical helicopter returning from being on exhibit at a fire department in Bay City, Mich., crashed, killing two people and injuring a third, state police said. The helicopter, operated by St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, was lifting off to return to Saginaw when the accident occurred, Trooper Thomas Pietrzak said. “They hadn’t gained a whole lot of altitude when they were taking off,” he said. Authorities were seeking the cause of the crash. Witnesses said that one person may have jumped from the helicopter before it crashed.
