Natalya Liskovskaya of the Soviet Union, in the Znamensky meet at Moscow, improved her world record in the shot put twice, increasing the women’s mark to 74 feet 3 inches.
Liskovskaya, 25, first tossed the shot 74-1 3/4, topping her previous mark of 73-11, set in May of 1984.
Meanwhile, in a world best this season, Anelia Nuneva of Bulgaria won the women’s 100 meters in 10.92. In the women’s 800, Lyubov Khiryukina of the Soviet Union also had a season’s best of 1:57.62.
