Unidentified gunmen outside Manila wounded former guerrilla leader Bernabe Buscayno and three companions and killed television cameraman Manuel Sanchez, police said. Buscayno, 42, and his companions were ambushed as they drove away from a television station in Quezon City, where Buscayno had appeared on a talk show, officers said. Buscayno, an unsuccessful Senate candidate in the May 11 elections, headed the Communist New People’s Army until he was captured in 1976. He was among the political prisoners freed by President Corazon Aquino after she took power last year.
