Colombian police, ferried in by helicopter, raided a 250-acre jungle coca plantation and cocaine laboratory complex near Paime, 40 miles north of Bogota. Col. Fabio Quijano, who headed the raid, said police arrested 25 people found working in 10 clandestine laboratories on the plantation. Quijano said the police found 30 camps capable of housing at least 400 workers. In the laboratories, police found 440 pounds of coca paste, chemicals used in processing cocaine, equipment to refine the paste and a telecommunications system.
