Kurdish guerrillas have killed at least 260 Iraqis and wounded more than 400 in two weeks of fighting in northern Iraq, rebel sources said in Athens. The guerrillas, fighting for autonomy for the Kurdish ethnic minority in northern Iraq, captured the town of Taqtaq, about 35 miles north of the Iraqi oil center at Kirkuk, late last month and held it for 20 hours, a rebel spokesman said. At least 100 Iraqi troops, but only two guerrillas, died in that battle, said the spokesman, representing a group called the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.
