Ray T. Parfet Jr., chairman and chief executive of Upjohn Co., Kalamazoo, Mich., will resign effective July 1 but will remain on the board, the pharmaceutical company announced. Theodore Cooper, a surgeon and currently vice chairman, will succeed Parfet, 64, who must retire under company policies.
Also, Lawrence C. Hoff, Upjohn’s president, will assume the additional title of chief operating officer, effective July 1.
