Twenty-two Israeli left-wing activists returned from a banned meeting with Palestine Liberation Organization members in Hungary, and police immediately summoned their leader for questioning. Parliament member Charlie Biton of the Communist Party must appear before police investigators within 10 days on suspicion of violating Israel’s anti-terrorism law, a police spokeswoman said. Biton said he plans to take advantage of parliamentary immunity from prosecution. He said on Israel army radio that the Israeli and PLO delegations agreed on a Palestinian state alongside a Jewish state and that the states should recognize each other.
