Radioactivity Reported Near French A-Plant

LUXEMBOURG —
Scientists have discovered abnormal levels of radioactivity in the Moselle River that they believe came from the nearby Cattenom French nuclear power station, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.
The Cattenom plant went on stream last year despite strong protests from ecologists in West Germany and Luxembourg and will be Europe’s largest nuclear power station when fully operational in 1990.
