Thunderstorms barreled through the plains, spinning off a tornado that shattered a mobile home, killing a baby, and whipping up howling winds of nearly 100 m.p.h. that knocked out power and blew down barns. The deadly tornado struck an isolated mobile home just north of Perryton, Tex., near the Oklahoma border. The swirling winds threw the 18-month-old girl 150 feet from the home where her body was found in scattered wreckage, officials said.
