The Efforts of Paramedics

Share

We want to express our enduring gratitude to the City of Huntington Beach and the paramedics who came to our aid recently at the Seacliff Country Club. Linda Moulton and I were married last Sunday in a beautiful wedding ceremony in which her proud and happy father had walked her down the aisle.

Linda’s father, William G. Baker, who had a history of a poor heart condition, suddenly suffered a major heart attack as he arrived in the parking lot at the wedding reception.

Friends and relatives came to his side and the paramedics were called. The well-trained, compassionate and devoted men of the Fire Department paramedics team were there in an instant. They did everything that could be done in tireless fashion to save him, but God took him from our completely grief-stricken family.

We are still suffering much pain and anguish, but our family wants to thank the Huntington Beach paramedics (and those who make them possible) for all they did for him and us. We will always know that everything that could have been done was done to save him and that he was not in pain.

Just as we will never forget the tragedy of his death, we shall also never forget the heroic life-saving efforts extended to him by the brave paramedics. Even though they could not save Bill Baker, they have saved, and will continue to save, many other thankful people because of their dedication, training and expertise.

The City Council policy to provide paramedic assistance is to be highly commended, especially in these times of budget-cutting necessities.
