A 12-year-old Long Beach boy was accidentally shot in the head by a friend as they played at home. The boy, who was not identified, was in critical condition after surgery. “The victim’s biggest fear was that he was going to get in trouble for playing with a gun,” said Lt. Jim Reed. The boy’s friend, whose name was also withheld, was questioned and released.
