Michael Olajide of Canada was ranked the No. 1 middleweight contender by the International Boxing Federation, and Iran Barkley was moved up to No. 2, clearing the way for a title fight between the two.

Promoter Bob Arum said he and Madison Square Garden would co-promote the fight for the vacant title in September, in either Las Vegas or Atlantic City, N.J.

A federal court in Detroit earlier this week sustained the IBF’s removal of Thomas Hearns as its top middleweight contender.
