British fans of the Beatles said Friday they wanted to erect a life-size bronze sculpture of the former pop group, complete with a juke box, in London’s Leicester Square. The vice-chairman of the Beatles Appreciation Society, John-James Chambers, said the group hoped to get planning permission for the statue, but a spokesman for the local municipal authority said no application had been received.
